DB Semester 2 Senators

In a recent assembly at our Donnybrook Primary campus, the Semester 2 Senators were proudly presented with their badges, marking a significant moment of recognition and responsibility for our young leaders. The theme of the assembly revolved around the concept - leadership.

During her address, Assistant Principal – Primary (Donnybrook), Rebecca Fry mentioned that at first glance, leadership may seem like a daunting concept, but in reality, it is something that each and every one of us can embody and practice in our daily lives. She also touched on the basis that true leadership encompasses acts of kindness, assistance to others, and serving as a role model for those around us. One does not require a fancy badge or an official title to be regarded as a leader. Leadership commences with small yet impactful gestures, such as including new individuals in activities, offering support to a friend in need of comfort, or standing up for what is morally right. Often, it is their ability to listen attentively, demonstrate genuine care, and motivate others to strive for excellence.

Being a leader often entails acts of courage. It involves embracing new experiences and embracing honesty while taking accountability for one's actions. We each possess the ability to lead in our own unique way, whether it involves being a reliable friend, showcasing respect for all, or being a source of support for those less fortunate. Every individual possesses the power to make a positive impact every single day.

The message during the assembly resonates strongly with our student leaders. Their responsibility, courage, and willingness to make a positive impact in the school community mirror the qualities highlighted in the assembly. We look forward to witnessing the positive influence and contributions our new student leaders will bring to our school.
