P-2 Cross Country - Donnybrook

On Monday, 15 August students from Prep to Year 2 participated in their first ever Cross Country event and were extremely excited to be involved in this history-making occasion! Below you will find two reflections from students who took part in the event.

Today the Year 1s did a Cross Country race in the morning. First, we walked to the soccer pitch and did some warmup exercises with Miss Crichton. Next, we listened to Miss Crichton say, “ready set go”. We then ran around the school. It was a very long run. When I was running, I started to feel tired. But I kept on running. When I got to the finish line, I felt proud of myself. - Ryna, 1Z

Today I was in a Cross Country race with all the Year 1s. I was excited to try and beat the fastest person in my class. First, we went to the soccer pitch to warm up. Then, we got in our starting positions and waited for the teachers to say “go”. I ran so fast I was going full speed, but I had to make sure to save my energy and slow down. When I saw the finish line I powered up and ran as fast as I could. At the end of the race, I was tired and thirsty. I was so happy with how I ran today. It was fun!  - Shavan, 1Z
