Last week, we commenced our Peer Mentoring program to support and further extend our Gifted and Talented Year 3 Mathematicians.

Our journey commenced when our Year 3 students undertook their first session with their Secondary school mentor. This session encompassed a fun and challenging open ended activity. Once paired up with their Year 9 or Year 10 mentors, the Year 3 students were asked to formulate an equation using the numbers provided. The creativity and discussion throughout the activity demonstrated by our Year 3 students was outstanding!

The key objective for these weekly sessions is to motivate, challenge and extend our Year 3 Gifted and Talented Mathematicians, while providing a leadership opportunity to our Year 9 and 10 students.
