Class of 2024

Compiling a list titled ‘What’s not happening at Hume’ would be a simpler task considering the extraordinary number of activities and events that have taken place recently.

On Tuesday, 11 March, a number of Primary and Secondary student leaders, under the guidance of Mrs Jarvis and Mrs Black, spent the morning at the Mt Ridley Conservation Reserve. There they picked up litter to support Clean Up Australia Day. Students collected dozens of garbage bags full of rubbish, which certainly went a long way to improving the health of our local environment. On the same day, our Year 1 students had their Big Day Out at King Lake Forest Adventures. Students participated in a range of Outdoor Education activities, pushing all a little out of their comfort zone. The students were exhausted by the time they arrived back at school at 7:40pm.

The Freier Campus Open Day was held on Saturday, 15 March with several hundred visitors attending to see our stunning campus. Our student tour guides were excellent ambassadors and proudly showed our visitors the many highlights of a Hume education. All curriculum areas were on display along with master plans, cocurricular offerings and presentations from Senior Leadership. A sincere thanks to our wonderful student volunteers, the Parents and Friend Association for the free BBQ, our music staff and talented student performers, the facilities team for presenting the campus in its best light and of course our staff, for the preparation that went into the day. Another wonderful success!
