In this edition of Meet the Team, we are pleased to introduce you to Chris Pandya, Finance Manager based at our Mt Ridley Campus.

Chris began his journey at Hume Anglican Grammar in 2019 as a Finance Manager. Previously, Chris worked as a Business and Tax Advisor. Since then, Chris’ role has expanded significantly. He now oversees finance and ICT while also assisting with various business operations. This broader responsibility allows Chris to contribute more effectively to the school's strategic planning and operational efficiency.

What do you like most about working at Hume Anglican Grammar?
Working at Hume Anglican Grammar has significantly broadened my professional experience. The educational sector is distinct from any other industry I have worked in, presenting unique challenges and opportunities.

The sense of purpose that comes from supporting the development and success of young minds is unparalleled. Knowing that my efforts in managing the school’s finance, ICT, and business operations directly impact the student's educational journey is deeply fulfilling.

Can you provide us with a 'snapshot' into your daily routine at school?
In my role, flexibility is essential as I juggle a variety of responsibilities. I regularly engage with parents to assist them with school fee accounts, negotiate with suppliers to secure better terms, and collaborate closely with our ICT team to ensure our systems meet both educational and administrative needs. Additionally, I provide support to staff regarding payroll and financial queries, striving to maintain seamless operations and promote a positive work environment throughout the school.

Who has had the biggest impact on your career and why?
It would not be fair to credit just one person. Firstly, I owe thanks to my parents who ensured I received an excellent education and supported me financially to study abroad. My partner sacrificed many holidays so I could complete my CPA. Both my current and past bosses provided numerous opportunities for learning and growth. I am also grateful to God for paving the way for me to work in the education industry and contribute to the future of our nation's children.

Fast Four:

If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
Mahatma Gandhi and if he is busy I would ask Nelson Mandela.

What is your favourite book?
The pursuit of Happyness.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
To go back in time and witness the historical events firsthand.

If you could only eat one cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Certainly Indian.
