The 6th Annual Victorian Law Foundation award night, co-hosted by the Victorian Law Foundation and Hume City Council, took place on Friday, 26 July at Owen Dixon Legal Chambers.

This event celebrated the academic achievements of students from schools in the city of Hume who excelled in their Year 11 Legal Studies subject.

Hume Anglican Grammar Year 12 student, Mehar was honoured as the recipient of the Vic Law Foundation Achievement Award. This award serves as an inspiration for young minds to explore the possibilities of a career in law. Mehar was not only presented with $1,500, but also received the incredible opportunity for work experience at the Supreme Court in Melbourne.

Alongside her teacher Mrs Selina Brincat, Mehar attended the award ceremony, where they had the chance to interact with various members of the legal fraternity, including High Court Justice Michelle Gorden. Adding to the successful evening, Raine of Year 12 received the encouragement award and is set to participate in work experience alongside Mehar in September.

This incredible opportunity will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact and inspire many more to follow in their footsteps. Congratulations Mehar and Raine!
