Hume Anglican Grammar Youth Group

Friday, 28 October saw the Hume Anglican Grammar’s student youth group hold its inaugural evening. The Youth group has been targeted to meet the wellbeing and faith needs of our students from Years 5 - 9 across both campuses. The group will enable students of similar faith and values to meet share a time of Christian fellowship and have some fun together as well as making further connections within the school community.

Despite the stormy evening we had a selection of enthusiastic participants playing various card games, involving themselves in a very competitive trivia Kahoot competition, eating copious amounts of pizza and sharing in our first Christian fellowship to start the evening. The evening was supported by various staff across both campuses including; Mrs Sarrif, Mrs Lazarus, and Mrs Jarvis, as well as our School’s associate Chaplain, Reverend Sheela. Our inaugural student youth leader Eryn McKenna was also very involved in the preparation and organising of the first event which proved to be very successful.

The evening finished with students looking forward to the next Youth group event which we hope to hold in a couple of weeks. Thank you to everyone who has shown interest in this group as well as to those who have supported it to get it started. We hope that this will be the first of many opportunities to put practise the school value Christianity beyond the classroom.
