Each Wednesday afternoon, our very talented Year 8 and Year 9 students have gathered in Lab 7.4 and have been diligently working through Unit 2 of the VCE Environmental Science course – “How Can Pollution be Managed?” Focusing on generation and management of pollution including human and environmental impacts.
Class activities have included experiments in the lab, during which students have learnt new laboratory analysis techniques. Students have also been furthering their technology skills by collecting and analysing data in Microsoft Excel.
The sessions run by Science teacher Ms Sarah Lee-Johnston have been jam packed with lively discussion and thought proving questions.
The course will continue in to Term 2 and will cover pollution transport mechanisms, dosage and toxicity of pollutants and a case study on a pollutant of concern in Australia.
