Be Still and Know that I am God

"Be still and know that I am God..." (Psalm 46:10)

Dear all,

Warm Greetings!! I hope and pray that you are doing well.

It is lovely to catch up with some of you during drop-off and pick-up times. With some of you, I have yet to spend some time; unfortunately, finding the best suitable time for each other is a challenge.

It is wonderful that we feel comfortable sharing about our busy schedules, sometimes about the frustrations of unfinished tasks and disappointments of our inability to catch up with our loved ones due to unavoidable circumstances. There is a lot that we talk about in that short period.

From all this, one important fact is clear: sometimes we are too occupied by different things happening simultaneously. Our attention is diverted to different things, and we can hardly enjoy the gift of a new day.

We are busy listening and responding to the different voices around and within us! So much goes on in our heads even before the day begins. Even before we open our eyes, in the early morning, our brains start instructing and directing us about what, when and how to do things. There’s no scope for other topics or discussions amidst all this.

Is it ever easily possible to pay attention to something different than what is already going on?

Despite that, we must make efforts to stifle the voices around us and hear the still, small voice, the whisper, speaking to us. Yes, our Creator’s voice says, ‘Be still and know that I am God!” It is a very personal voice. Just for you!

Jesus says in the Gospel of John, Chapter 14, Verse 27:

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.”

Let us know that God of Peace invites us to participate in His Peace. The tranquillity of spirit can overcome every disturbing situation. We are created in God’s image, and He called us His children. So, let us hear His voice and be assured of His Peace.

Let’s ease ourselves! May God bless us all!

Prayer
Help me participate in your Peace,
O God.

Let me hear your gentle and soft voice each day.
Amen.
