On Thursday, 18 August, students from our Donnybrook campus would took part in the Bridge Inn District Athletics Finals held at Meadowglen Athletics Track.

The event was a successful one for Team Hume, with 26 students placing in the top 4 of their respective events. Well done to Jia Kohli, Shaurya Jaswal, Harnoor Harry, Jakirat Guru and Neha Shahnas who have qualified for the next round! Below, is a recount from one of our Year 6 athletes about their experience.

“RING! Went my alarm at 6am in the morning! I woke up and suddenly remembered it was the 18 August. On this day students from the Donnybrook campus went to represent Hume Anglican Grammar at the Bridge Inn District Athletics. We were all very nervous and had no idea about what the results would be, but everyone put in the best effort we could possibly put in. I participated in the relay and triple jump at first, I didn’t think I would be able to do it but, in both events, I placed in the Top 4! Our relay team was waiting for this moment since we got there as it was the last event that took place. I stood there shaking waiting for the baton to be passed to me, as soon as I received it, I put in my all and ran the fastest I had ever run! I felt very proud for everyone who had participated even if they hadn’t gotten into the next round! At the end of the day more than 26 students from our school had placed in the top 4 and many even made it into regionals this was an experience I will never forget.” - Ekampreet Year 6
