12 Angry Jurors
What a pleasure it was to attend the performance of 12 Angry Jurors earlier this term. Seeing the result of hours of dedication, passion and commitment from our students (many of whom were in their first ever production) and staff was inspiring. It was also great to see the production being supported by so many staff and students.
These experiences for students have benefits that reach far beyond the recognition of the audience and the life-long memories formed. Amongst a host of others, students involved learnt:
- From the times they were ‘too tired’ to go to rehearsal but went anyway
- To be disciplined, focused and dedicated
- To work with others and to be part of a team
- That it takes hours and hours of hard work and practice to achieve something of value and that success does not happen overnight
- To have confidence and belief in themselves
- To be proud of their achievements
Opportunities to develop attributes that will serve students well throughout their lives and to bless the lives of others are invaluable. How fortunate we are that Hume provides so many of these opportunities for our students. A massive thanks to the staff who were involved in this production, especially Mr Clive Parkin (Director) and Ms Amy Besic (Producer), and a hearty congratulations to the talented cast.
