Arts Week 2021
Welcome back to Term 4! Like many other important weeks in our calendar, Arts Week 2021 has shifted to an online event. Students have been given the opportunity to investigate their passions, and The Arts has allowed them to express themselves through various mediums.
Thanks to our dedicated and creative staff, students across both Primary and Secondary have been able to pursue some of their interests and creative pursuits. On offer during Arts Week have been optional workshops, including a drama workshop with professional actress Genevieve Neve. There have also been dance and singing workshops aimed at honing skills in those areas.
Secondary students have been involved in VCE Music, Dance and Drama performances. They have participated in interviews about their craft and have had opportunities to join quizzes relating to The Arts.
Primary students enjoyed guessing which teacher produced which creative piece in a ‘Who Dunnit…? Provocation board. They too were able to participate in a Kahoot quiz about the Arts. A singalong will cap off the week tomorrow in a positive light with Ms Sommer!
Finally, a virtual gallery of student work was sent out via our school website. This exhibition is a celebration of outstanding work across both Primary and Secondary. Whilst we could only showcase a handful of pieces, it has given staff and students a platform for future shows and exhibitions. We look forward to being able to promote the Arts more when we are back at school and interacting with students daily.
A big thank you to Haylee Sommer and Mike Smith for their organisation to make Arts Week a success, along with all Arts staff for offering so many engaging opportunities for our students.
