shining star

Year 1 student at our Mt Ridley campus, Antonio, has recently made his professional stage debut in the Melbourne production of Miss Saigon at Her Majesty's Theatre.

The epic love story of passion and tragedy has been a dream come true for Antonio, who was selected for the role of Tam after a successful audition.

Tam is a character born in 1975 and raised alone by his mother, Kim (lead character), in an impoverished area of Saigon. Antonio's first performance was a huge success. He loved every moment of being on stage and is eagerly anticipates his next opportunities to perform.

Antonio's mother, Ganny, says that Antonio performs 1 – 2 times per week. Even when he's not performing, Antonio is ready to step in as the standby Tam. The entire cast has been supportive, and Antonio’s family is grateful for the experience to be a part of such an amazing show.

It's not just Antonio who is making waves in Miss Saigon, as Hume Anglican Grammar Alumni, Celine Cleveland, is also performing in the production. Celine made her professional musical theatre debut in Hamilton and has been an inspiration to Antonio.

The opportunity to participate in a professional production at such a young age is a rare and exciting experience, and Antonio is making the most of it. We can't wait to see what the future holds for this talented young performer.
