The Senior Mixed Hockey Team from Hume Anglican Grammar has once again emerged as the State Champions, securing their third consecutive victory in the School Sport Victoria State Championships!
On Friday, 23 August the team showcased their exceptional skills and teamwork, progressing through the tournament and ultimately winning the title.
Training for the team took place at the Craigieburn Falcons Hockey Club in anticipation of the championships and it certainly paid off, as they exhibited a remarkable performance in both tournaments. Throughout the games, the team demonstrated their skill on the field. The team exhibited solid defence, as they conceded only two goals across six matches, showcasing their determination.
The Seniors displayed a perfect balance of skill and flair in their attacking plays, making them a challenging force on the field. Despite the impressive results, the scores did not fully reflect the intense and challenging nature of the games. The team's comprehensive victories in the round matches, including the 4-0 win against Strathmore Secondary College and the 3-0 win against Mildura Secondary College, highlighted their dominance in the competition.
In the State semi-final, the team's exceptional performance continued as they secured a convincing 4-1 victory against Mordialloc College, reflecting unwavering determination and skill. The highlight of their achievement came in the state final, where they emerged triumphant with a remarkable 4-0 victory against Notre Dame College, cementing their status as the State Champions for the third consecutive year.
Congratulations!
