Over the past two weeks the Donnybrook and Kalkallo community had the opportunity to attend a Family Maths Night with Colleen Monaghan. Colleen Monaghan is a maths consultant who specialises in supporting schools and families with engaging in mathematics. These were well-attended evenings with families having time with their child to specifically focus on how we learn math at Hume Anglican Grammar and how they can support learning at home. The nights were filled with many engaging hands-on math activities, for example, students measured using their handspans, jumping and estimating, worked out the probability of …. and so much more. This gave families a great opportunity to visit our classrooms and learn some fun games to play at home.
