On Thursday, 25 July, 24 student representatives from our Donnybrook, Kalkallo and Mt Ridley campuses, both Primary and Secondary, along with Reverend Sheela, Reverend Jonathan, Mrs Marisa Jarvis and Principal, Mr Bill Sweeney, attended the Anglican Schools Service at St Paul’s Cathedral in the city.
It was a lovely gathering of staff and students from over 25 Anglican schools across Victoria.
The theme of the service was ‘Pilgrimage’, a symbolic journey of our travel from our respective schools to come together at the sacred place of worship. Each school participated in the service with banner bearers Carlos and Deron, proudly carrying the Hume crest during the entry procession and recessional, and our pilgrim staff carriers, Christopher and Jude, who presented our School’s donation to Anglican Overseas Aid during the Offertory.
The combined Anglican Schools Service is held every two years and is a wonderful opportunity for our students to celebrate our Anglican identity along with the wider Anglican school community to which we belong.
